PORT OF ALEXANDRIA, Egypt, Aug. 23 -- The guided-missile destroyer Jiaozuo (Hull 163) and the comprehensive supply ship Honghu (Hull 906) attached to the 46th Chinese naval escort taskforce wrapped up their five-day goodwill visit to Egypt and departed from the Port of Alexandria on Monday morning. After that, ships from China and Egypt conducted joint maritime training in the Mediterranean.

The joint training kicked off in the waters north of the Port of Alexandria at around 1:00 p.m. The Chinese naval ships Jiaozuo and Honghu, together with the Egyptian Navy's frigate Al Galala, carried out drills on communication coordination, formation maneuver, replenishment-at-sea positioning and other subjects.

During the training, ships of the two sides commanded alternately and operated in close collaboration, ensuring success in various training items. At the end of the joint training, the two sides held a farewell ceremony.

It is learned that the ships Jiaozuo and Honghu attached to the 46th Chinese naval escort taskforce visited the Port of Alexandria, Egypt, from August 15 to 19. During the visit, the taskforce paid official calls and held a desk reception on the ship Jiaozuo. Commander of the Egyptian Navy boarded the ship for a visit, and sailors of the two sides carried out cross-deck visits, professional exchanges, friendly football matches and other activities, which have effectively promoted the exchanges between the two navies, and further deepened the friendship between the two countries.
