MACAO, China, Aug. 30 -- In line with the Law of the People's Republic of China on Garrisoning the Macao Special Administrative Region and orders from the Central Military Commission, the Macao Garrison of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) completed the 25th rotation on Thursday since it began garrisoning in Macao in 1999.
A farewell ceremony was organized at the Zhuhai base in the early morning. The officers and soldiers lined up neatly in high spirits. After the ceremony, the new troops entered Macao from Hengqin Port. The PLA Macao Garrison organized a defense handover ceremony at the Taipa Barracks.
The service members who were rotated have successfully completed all tasks during their deployment in Macao, safeguarded national sovereignty, security, and development interests, and maintained the prosperity and stability of Macao, showcasing a fine image of the PLA. The newly deployed troops into Macao had undergone solid training before arriving at the garrison barracks. They had systematically mastered the basic conditions of Macao and relevant legal knowledge and are now fully capable of performing their defense duties in Macao.
